Hi there.. we are travelling Friday from South coast to Forest of Dean and have worked out that Swindon is on route ( coming up a34) and might be a good place to stop. Looking for an outdoor attraction suitable for two lovely boys age 8 and 5. Any ideas? Thank you

Jungle Parc would be my first recommendation. It's a high ropes centre with courses for children aged 4+. If not, try footgolf at Basset Down golf Complex. If it's raining, there's a rock climbing centre called Rockstar, as well as laser quest, bowling, karting etc...

If the weather turns rubbish and your DC are in to trains there the STEAM museum, which is worth a visit. It's also next to the Outlet Village.

If you're just looking for a park/outdoor space for a run around, try Lydiard Park or Coate Water.

Lydiard Park has a really good playground, suitable for 8 year old. It is also where the jungle park is.

Coate Water has a mini golf, playground, and lake (you can walk round it)

For paid activities, they are mostly indoors, as pp said, laser quest, bowling, swimming, trampolines etc

Jungle Park is at Lydiard Park - Lydiard has a good playground, plenty of space to kick a ball about and a couple of cafes so even if you don’t fancy the Jungle rope bit it would be a good bet (and the playground/grounds etc are free - just a few quid to park).

If it’s wet Freedog (trampolining place) might be a good bet.
