Planning a short break in November, any recommendations for keen photographers? Things to do, places to go and a special restaurant for a big birthday!

The Bioparc is a good day out anyway but photographers will like the fact that animals are not behind bars or glass. It's all about natural barriers and the viewing areas are great.
Saint Mary's cathedral is photogenic and the facade of the National Ceramic Musuem is pretty spectacular. Worth going in just to see the traditional Valencian tiled kitchen on the top floor.
The City of Arts and Sciences is great regardless of whether you want to take great pictures but the outside of the building looks amazing at sunset.
Definitely wonder through the old silk exchange buildings, La Lonja de la Seda.
The central market is definitely a feast for the eyes with hundreds of stalls piled high with the best seasonal produce. It's one of the largest in Europe. Look up to see the stained glass and mosaics on the domes of the iron structure, and definitely have a freshly-squeezed orange juice at the tiled bar outside.
Albufera is a freshwater lake six miles south of the city. It's separated from the sea by a narrow strip of sand dunes and its whee rice is grown. Not surprisingly, there are excellent paella restaurants here too. If you don't have your own transport, it is easiest to use the Valencia Tourist Bus service which costs about €17 and includes a boat trip.
Bodega Casa Montana is a fantastic tapas bar hidden away in the Cabanyal quarter near the beach. Classic dishes are prepared using artisan ingredients sourced from all around the Valencia region, and there is a huge selection of wines too. Although informal with high tables and stools, it is very popular so it is worth booking.

I've just looked up our photos for the restaurant we went to in Valencia: la otre parte near the beach I think. We go to Valencia a fair bit as my mum lives near there and she and her husband said it was one of the best tapas places they'd eaten in. Definitely book and it's quite relaxed - but most Spanish eating is!

For a special restaurant, I'd recommend El Cabanyal

Well worth the short taxi ride. Must book in advance as it's very small
