API requirements First Choice being really unhelpful

So, I am going away on Thursday 9th of August - to Cyprus. I have checked in on-line and already have my boarding passes.

Part of the on-line check in procedure was to complete the API requirements, which I had actually done already a few weeks ago, as soon as I was able to log into my account.

When I checked the details were correct (as part of the procedure to check in online), the passport numbers I had previously inputted were partially starred eg 5734 (not a real passport number). So I checked off the last four digits and pressed 'continue'. But, now I'm doubting myself and thinking that I was actually supposed to re-input the numbers.

I spoke to a customer service person on the phone, who tried to tell me that if there are any problems I could update them at 'check in' despite me telling him repeatedly I've already checked in online. There is no way to check the numbers are correct once you've checked in online (I have tried and it doesn't let you look, the bit for API isn't 'clickable' - and the customer service rep also confirmed that).

So....my question is....if there's a mistake on the passport numbers/details when you get to airport, do they just update them?

I'm sure they will check the passport details when you go to the bag drop at the airport

If it was written like that with the stars I'm sure you weren't meant to do anything Moe than check it was the correct passport ie 5734 rather than passport *1289.

Yes, usually forms like this will have a mandatory field clause so wouldn't let you click 'ok' without filling in the details. I wouldn't worry, I think you were just meant to check the last 4 digits, like with a credit card.

And don't worry!

TUI would automatically correct any minor errors with pport numbers at the check in desk which you still have to report to despite checking in online. (EX senior travel industry of 35 yrs plus!).

You wouldn't believe the number of people who make mistakes inputting their pport numbers. 😁
