Chickenpox and Ryanair

My son has chickenpox. First spot came out Monday 23rd; we’re booked on a Ryanair flight this weds August 1. His spots are already crusted over for the most part, and will all be crusted by weds; but Ryanair website suggests we need a doctors letter to travel. Has anyone else done this? Or able to advise on whether they’re likely to just take one look at him and see that he is no longer infectious? He will have had the spots for over a week by the time we fly, and their rule is 7 days. Don’t want to risk being told we can’t board, but getting a letter is difficult and expensive!

Ryanair are not known for being overly accommodating or flexible. If they say they want a letter its best to get a letter.

Get the letter for peace of mind, being denied boarding will be far more difficult and expensive than a doctors letter

I would just get a letter op. Call the gp on monday and explain everything.it could be a lot more expensive and time consuming if he is refused onto the flight.

Thanks all. Needed a kick up the arse! Think I’m a bit crazed with lack of sleep. I am going to get a letter.
