First time visit in a couple of weeks, really looking forward to it! What are your top tips for a successful trip?

Enjoyed our trip to Barbados in January

We did a glass bottom boat / snorkilng trips we used a small company only us on the boat.

Loved exploiting the island found some awesome food. We hired a car for our whole trip.

Enjoyed the concord experience and some water sports. And enjoyed an afternoon watch the polo. Great markets in Bridgetown and a farmers market next to the polo ground.

We self-catered and ate out plenty of choice all price ranges.

We’re off in a few weeks too - last minute booking and change of plan after I broke my foot 5 weeks ago. We’re going AI (sorry) at Crystal Cove. Is driving in Barbados easy (found Antigua ok to drive in but St Lucia a bit hair raising!).

What’s the best way to hopefully see turtles?

Driving in Barbados is very easy.

No need to apologise for going AI either - as far as I'm concerned, that's the key part of the holiday for me! (As long as the food is good, of course). Self-catering just means work - and having to factor in going shopping for food. I'm more than happy not to have to shop, cook, wash up etc when I'm on holiday.

Enjoy!

We went to the Sunday brunch at Sandy Lane, and bloody hell it was lush. I’ve never seen, or indeed eaten, so much food.
We didn’t actually do much else, other than chill on the beautiful beach by our hotel as we were knackered.
I will be more adventurous next time. And there will be a next time, as I loved it!
Have fun!

Have a great time!
Although booking is a must we've found in the summer more often than not you can call on the day/ day before and get a table relatively easy, much unlike Christmas.
We much prefer Cliff Beach to the Cliff - similar food, quite a lot cheaper and I think it's the most beautiful restaurant I've ever been too - drinks are also great and I've heard the new bar and bar snacks are great.
Sandy Lane Bajan Blue for lunch is a nice treat, we love Lone Star and go multiple times every trip ( although have never been in evening), we also love The Tides - went last August for lunch and we were the only people there for vast majority of the visit.
We spend a lot of time at Paynes Bay Beach and there's the most amazing Banks food stall there which serves super fresh, really really good food and is definitely the most authentic (and affordable) place we've ever been on the island - think flying fish burgers.
Driving is very simple - same as England - only thing is that there is no drink driving limit - it is only against the law to 'drive dangerously' therefore, you do get some not very safe driving.
Also love the Lime Grove centre - all the cafes and restaurants in it are great as are the shops.
New this year is Nikki Beach, past Speightstown, which we found really fun and it does some good brunch/drinks deals so is good to look into although probably for more older children although we did see quite a few younger kids there with families when we were there.
