Have you ever gotten a flight upgrade?

It has literally never happened to me, I don’t fly lots but I’ve got friends who seem to manage to get them all the time! We’re flying longhaul for a wedding next year, does anyone have any tips for how we might get an upgrade? I realise they’re like hen’s teeth, but thought we could at least maximise our chances

I think some people lie about getting upgrades just to make themselves look good

The best I have had is extra legroom seats for free a couple of times. That was nice.

Yes with medical evidence of a failed spinal fusion, it was a Cathay Pacific flight from Australia to Hong Kong. Obviously only for that member of the party - she popped down to economy to visit us peasants regularly though

I agree travelling in upper class ruins economy for life!

And it sucks that ordering special meals excludes you- I’m coeliac and the special meals I order (in first and economy) are usually inedible anyway...and I’ll eat most things
