Legoland with a 2 and 5 year old, on my own?

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before but I've googled it to death and can't find a definitive answer! If I take my 2 and very tall 5 year old can we call go on rides together? For example, could we all go on the laser quest tomb ride thing together in one car (as in me and the 2 yo in the back and the 5yo in the front) or would they both need an adult sitting next to them? Would we fit on the coastguard ride, as a three? I may be over thinking this though... I don't intend on getting a q- bot so it's possible we won't go on any rides!!

I don't know the specifics to your questions, but am bumping for you.

My own opinion is it is a complete waste of money to take such little ones to legoland. There are far better 'theme parks' for little ones, if you really want a theme park.

I'd say it wouldn't work from what I can remember.

I'd certainly wait

I think your biggest problem will be that there will be rides your 2 year old will not be big enough for bit you 5 year old would want to go on. So unless you where going with two adults I'd say no to LEGOLAND until they are both a bit bigger or you can take someone with you.

This.

You will be limited to the smaller rides like the boats, the smaller driving school, the train. And the submarine, that's one of our favourites. There's the pirate show, the model village, but there's lots you would not be able to do.

Depends if your 5yo would be happy to just go on the smaller rides. My only just 6yo would moan the whole time that he could only go on the babyish rides.

With kids of that age, I think you really need another adult. Many rides require children to be a certain height to go on and then also a certain (taller) height to be able to go on not sitting next to an adult. Your 5 year old is unlikely to be tall enough for the latter on any of the rides (and they check at each ride very assiduously). I've seen situations where the adult is allowed to go with one child, where the other waits at the front of the queue until the adult comes back and they swap, but that's not a lot of fun for anyone and the "left" child may find it distressing. I think it'd be a pretty stressful day without another adult, to be honest.

There would be a fair few rides you can't go in, as DC5 will be too small to go in alone without adult sat next to him.

Paulton's park (Ower, near Romsey bottom of Hampshire) is fabulous theme park for their ages. Not just Peppa pig world too. Theres other rides throughout park for littlies, gorgeous grounds to walk around, sand & play area with wooden structures to climb, penguin enclosure and dinosaur walk to see.
I took.mine there mostly, and only to Legoland once the older two could go on most rides without adult (at earliest was 3,7,9) so I could take on ride or stay with littlest (all mine are tall). Or I took my Dsis with me to be second adult at Legoland.

You can look up all the ride height restrictions online and sit and work it out, what height they need at least to go on which ride/ make it worthwhile.

No, you would be too limited. The 5 year old will not be tall enough to go on rides alone and the 2 year old isn’t old enough to be left standing at the side of the ride for you to parent swap. You can’t take your pushchair in the queue. I’m quite laid back about doing things with my 3 on my own (10,8,almost 5) but I wouldn’t do LEGOLAND. I took them to the tiny Discovery Centre one on my own last year and even that was exhausting and very compromised for the kids.

I personally would not do it.

We have been four times, I have always had another adult with me.
Apart from the ride situation, which will cause you problems if your five year old will want to go on some stuff your two year old cannot get on, everytime we have been, it has been beyond heaving, especially now with this warm weather.

If your five year old will not be fussed and is happy to go on the smaller rides and they are happy to spend a lot of the day in the splash zone bit (which is fab on a warm day) then you will be ok (knackered) but ok.
In saying all that, if you are paying full price, it is a whole lot of money to only go on a few rides and spend the day in the splash park x

aperolspritzplease · 25/07/2018 13:03

No I wouldn't even consider it TBH!

FramptonRose · 25/07/2018 13:08

Oh and that laser quest ride, just to prewarn you, we queued for an hour and 40 minutes and it lasted all of one minute.
Honestly unless you are prepared to buy queue bots, which in your situation, I think would be a huge waste of money as you will be so limited with rides, be prepared for serious queuing x

How tall is your 2yo? 90cm
is the magic number. How patient is he? How independent is he?
If the 2yo isn't 90cm, you can all do the little blue train and fairy tale brook
in Duplo Land along with the play area there, the splash area and the fairy tale theatre shows, can do Atlantis submarine and the coastguard boat & can watch the pirate show. You can also do the carousel. Check online for laser raiders and things like the balloon boat thing.
I used to do it loads when mine were that age & younger but we had a pre-school pass so only went in term time and it only cost us £50 for the year. DC1 also knew we had to have "boring" trips unless we had an extra adult or I found someone else to look after DC2.
