We took €200 and brought home €80!

We didn’t do any excursions though cause DS was only 10 months. We ate out 1 night and bought juice, water and snacks for the apartment. Apart from that it was just some fridge magnets etc for people at home.

So you don’t need much unless you’re planning any days out in my experience!

It completely depends on what sort of holiday you're planning on having. Will you eat all of your means in the hotel or will you go out for the odd lunch or dinner? We always eat out a few times as get fed up of the same restaurants for a week, especially if there are only a couple of them. As a PP said, are you going on any excursions, hiring a car for a couple of days, paying for the kids to have any lessons? Will you insist on all ice creams and drinks being in the hotel only (so free) or will you have any when out? Does the AI include labelled brands or are the drinks awful so you'll end up buying them anyway? Will you be taking everything with you or will you buy toiletries and stuff out there? What about things like pool floats, bats & balls? Souvenirs?

When I've been AI with teens we always go out of the hotel at night and we eat out a few times as well. Also a trip to a water park.
Just done a week with four adults (DC in 20s). We spent about £500.

Thanks for all the speedy responses.....

No car hire. We have booked and paid for 2 excursions already (boat trip and waterpark). I am open to both eating at the hotel all the time or eating out. ideally i'd like to eat our no more than 3 times (as we have paid for AI!) but I don't like boring food and don't like the though of being tied to the hotel!

We won't buy souvenirs but the dc will and have 50 euros each to do so.

I'm presuming that lounger hire at the beach will need to be factored in, as well as the obligatory lilos! :)

It depends on how you like to spend your time , we only use allinc as a base and go out every day with just the occasional day to recoup at the hotel, we take as much as we can afford with the intention of bringing back what we don't use.

You'll presumably need money for food/drinks at the waterpark. It's common with AI to provide a picnic if you are out for the day (tend to need to book the night before) so you could look into that. Although the hotel we stayed at last year gave you a bag so you could make up a lunch from the breakfast buffet.

Does the boat trip include lunch? If not, you'll need to factor that in but the cost will depend on entirely what you want to eat.

Buy lilos in UK, they tend to be cheaper especially now that primark and aldi sell them.

MorrisDancingViv · 20/07/2018 12:46

Also, check your hotel on TripAdvisor you may need to pay for a safe, air con, pool towels, bottled water even at AI

We usually take the equivalent of about £50 - £60 per day in Euros. Any larger or unexpected purchases can be paid for on the credit/debit card if need be.

If all inclusive I would bring 4/500 just for days out, water parks or excursions.

Obviously having some more in emergency fund.
