Oh god...flight to Ibiza

It's going to be full of 17 year olds and hag parties isn't it? It's a night flight. No chance of the kids sleeping then Sad

The hags will probably drop off to sleep after a G&T.

MyWaterButtIsEmpty · 17/07/2018 15:37

Sorry but it's probably going to be hideous. Load up their tablets and get decent noise cancelling headphones for everyone.

duckyfuzzz · 17/07/2018 15:42

And to top it off... I'm phobic of flying. No chance of relaxing.

TroubledLichen · 17/07/2018 15:50

Diazepam for you?! Allergy meds for the kids?!
(I am joking, drugging the whole family is probably not wise)

I second loading up the tablets and noise cancelling earphones. The kids will be excited and it’s only a short flight so I expect the chances of them sleeping wouldn’t be very high even if the flight was by some miracle really quiet. Plus at least if they stay awake they’ll crash when you get to the hotel (hopefully).

The holiday will be worth it, keep telling yourself that!

blackbirdbluebottle · 17/07/2018 17:04

Could be worse, could be on a flight with a screaming child!

duckyfuzzz · 17/07/2018 17:18

Blackbird, I'll probably be sitting next to my screaming child

We took a night flight to ibiza last summer, it was perfectly fine, mostly families. Same on the way home.

MorrisDancingViv · 17/07/2018 18:36

I've flown to and from ibiza twice, both times with easyjet. One flight home was overnight. Mostly just families and couples. Flight to Crete however was exactly what you're fearing!

duckyfuzzz · 17/07/2018 18:38

That's hopeful. We're flying with TUI. God I hate flying. Wish it was the morning so I didn't have the day to dwell over it.

VanillaLatteAndCake · 17/07/2018 18:39

They tend to put families near the front and the wild ones near the back of the plane in my Ibiza experience!

BarbaraOcumbungles · 17/07/2018 18:45

Last time I went some twat was surfing along the top of the seats kicking people in the head shouting about how much coke he’d had about how he’d stabbed one of his mates. He was about 30 stone and off his tits sweating like a pig with half his clothes off. It was grotesque. I had the misfortune of standing by him on the shuttle bus and he was staggering about all over the place slurring about drugs and fights. I hoped the fit Spanish police that they normally have at Ibiza airport would come and remove him to a cell and send the disgusting creature back home in the morning . but he got through passport control ok and was allowed to carry on with his holiday.

Still....at least It’s only a couple of hours. I’ve done that flight loads and It’s normally ok.

aperolspritzplease · 17/07/2018 18:45

Tui will be mostly families in package holidays.

Mendeleyev · 17/07/2018 18:46

Ooh we are flying to Ibiza on Friday evening. Looking forward to it!

duckyfuzzz · 17/07/2018 19:57

Same mend! From Gatwick?

hairymoragthebampot · 17/07/2018 20:01

17yr olds can’t afford Ibiza! I have no doubt your flight will be fine...

duckyfuzzz · 17/07/2018 20:06

Hairy it's almost right of passage to do an Ibiza style holiday after as/alevels, no?! I did ayia napa Blush I'm 30 now and the thought makes me cringe.

not anymore *duckyfuzzz my DS and his mates haven't ventured close to Ibiza due to the cost and they are not poor and are now 22. They have done other holidays though

hairymoragthebampot · 17/07/2018 22:05

The right of passage involves reading festival after GCSES and a week to an island after A levels and most head to Greece or somewhere like that for a mass package deal. You still get the inter railers too..but not my DS and his mates..

HoneyMonster12 · 17/07/2018 22:05

Ibiza is an absolute fortune if your doing the party scene, the youngens will be going to magaluf Grin That said, last time I went to Ibiza (3 years ago to do the party scene) there was a stag do of 40 men so incredibly drunk the pilot refused to take off until they were kicked off Blush

drnectarine · 17/07/2018 22:08

hag parties? Hmm

AskingForAnEnemy · 17/07/2018 22:10

I've flown to Ibiza before with my kids. Seen one hen party and they were quiet. It was a decent flight. I was worried it would be rowdy but it wasn't at all

duckyfuzzz · 18/07/2018 06:32

Yes nectarine quite clearly stag and hen parties. Combined they are known as hag.

OP posts:
Waltzingmatilda65 · 28/07/2018 22:43

Sorry but screaming young children can be just as annoying to other ordinary passengers as hags. Let’s hope your children don’t kick up too much of a fuss OP and everyone can have a peaceful flight.

danni0509 · 28/07/2018 22:47

We did Ibiza, 2 adults 1 child, flight was a night flight, no issues at all.
