Melatonin tablets can be bought in drug stores.

claraschu · 14/07/2018 08:00

Maple sugar candy-

Furrycushion · 14/07/2018 08:05

Bath & body works all the way, I love their stuff, & am amazed it hasn't come over here. Large pits of ibuprofen & paracetamol, although more expensive than Tesco, convenient to gave large pots. Melt in the mouth paracetamol tablets for children. Areopostale t shirts etc.

Skippy extra crunchy peanut butter - you can get it it huge 2lb jars .

Wellhellothere101 · 14/07/2018 08:13

I would third melatonin tablets. Take 3mg an hour or two before you go to bed from the first night you arrive and you'll not have any jet lag. Take for a week or so after you return home and no sleep disturbance on the way home either!
We go every year but with the exchange rate being so poor I rarely buy anything there. I also think the UK high street is much better for clothes than the US.
Have a great time!

Hanes pants - they are great. Hydrocortisone cream. Skechers. Wax melts. I'm going in September with an empty suitcase.

CarpeVitam · 14/07/2018 11:29

Off to the US the in a few weeks....will definitely get some melatonin! Wink

Furrycushion · 14/07/2018 12:14

Skippy available here in the large jars if you are a member at Costco. Only problem is not eating it all by the spoonful.

EdWinchester · 14/07/2018 18:23

Melatonin has the opposite effect on me - makes me completely wide awake and gives me heartburn. Confused

PaddysMarket · 14/07/2018 18:27

Caramel m&m's, Pretzel m&m's, Cheetos.

Limpopobongo · 14/07/2018 18:28

Yes, go to a bullion dealer and buy American Silver Eagles, smuggle them back here and flog them.

Wellhellothere101 · 15/07/2018 09:07

Oh dear @Edwinchester Not a good side effect to melatonin! I get wacky dreams when I take it but it usually is worth it as I still get a long sleep with it.
I work in.ICU and although it's unlicensed for this use in the UK we use it with a lot of our patients who are sedated and have mixed up night and day. It's 'fairly' successful.
Sorry for the derail! Back to USA shopping. If you are into skincare I would recommend Cerave PM moisturiser. It's not available in the UK yet and is a fab daytime moisturiser (ignore the fact it says PM on it. Think this is just to illustrate it doesn't contain an SPF)

Definitely Bath and Body Works - their candles are amazing and I love their body lotions

CarpeVitam · 14/08/2018 02:45

In the US now, any more suggestions? 😉

PoliticalRookery · 14/08/2018 03:10

Dark mint M&Ms, pumpkin spice coffee creamer.

Any one have any baby/child specific recommendations? I don't suppose they have a teething gel that actually works do they?!

Monty27 · 14/08/2018 03:21

I have never ever had a desire to go to states.
It isn't just me then.
I hear all sorts of stuff about the states. Wild horses wouldn't get me there.
If it was VIP i could reconsider 😂😂

Rosie1990 · 14/08/2018 03:50

I love trainers and found their converse and vans much cheaper! Yay

HesMyLobster · 14/08/2018 04:01

Definitely Midol - it's amazing, cures everything! We stock up on the huge tubs.

Bath and body works is fab - candles, car air fresheners, and the tiny little antiseptic hand gels in hundreds of different flavours! Love them - I'm a TA and always buy them for colleagues at school!

Huge US brands like Levi's and Ralph Lauren will always be cheaper over there, even more so if you find an outlet mall.
