DLP - which hotel

So, I've asked on Disney sites but they all seem different in terms of reviews.

Booked for NPB (not Compass Club, can't see the point for the £££)

Is the DLH worth the extra £600 for three nights?

Me, two boys.

I've paid for a top up to the Wild West show and also a xter breakfast.

The boys are not exciting or big eaters

With a standard DLH room you get one fast pass per day per person . We prefer SL to NPB and I agree with pp that it’s definitely closer . What time of the year are you going ?

SouthWestmom · 12/07/2018 11:04

October the week before usual half term.
Interesting that SL is Clare

Reports are coming in that DLP are still issuing green passes on just a doctor's letter at least for the time being. There's a Facebook page which even if you don't post is worth keeping an eye on because your predicament is currently a hot topic for many people. www.facebook.com/groups/526398360862687/
Even if you are not entitled to a green pass you may well, with a doctor's letter , be entitled to an orange one.

Oh that's interesting thank you.

I've looked at the suite in golden forest and that looks nice.

I'm thinking if Disney closes at 8pm in October it might be weird to be in the hotel at the gates.

Maybe a slow walk back (if it's ten minutes) would be better.

Plus we get a VIP fast pass so less of a worry about the green card if we get someone who insists on DLA. Not applying because a) its a massive hassle and b) we are ok for money and can cover time etc. Not that I think people shouldn't at all but I don't want to apply just for a fast pass at Disney!

The VIP fast passes are limited to a certain number each day- and I don't think they apply to all rides.
I would still apply for a pass if you can get a letter from a Doctor or consultant- it made the Disney experience so much less stressful and more relaxed for my little girl.
October is a lovely time to go :)

OP my DSs aren’t ‘foodies’ either. We stayed in DLH and had meal vouchers. We used these for room service as and when we wanted. Had a good breakfast in the am-there is a very extensive choice. Then hit the park. We could get some popcorn/crepe or whatever from a stall if they wanted and just headed to the room whenever they were hungry/tired. They had a rest, and studied the map and we ordered room service. The food was great! Cooked to order. Pizza, lovely fries, omelette, and always came with lovely crusty rolls, salad...it was fabulous!
Mine are not ‘Disney’ mad, but it gets hold of you! They loved it. Enjoy your trip.

We’ve stayed in sequoia, Newport bay and DLH.

We love DLH partly because of the location eapecially after the fireworks and when we got wet one day but also because of the inventions breakfast (not character unless CC) and just the general feel of the place. We had a luxury room with terrace and it was fab.

That said, Newport and sequoia were also brilliant - prefer NPB out of the two though. The hotel is enormous though so try and ask for a room near reception if you want one.

Also when we went to DLH you still got a FP pppd but they’ve stopped that now unless you’re castle club. You still get it club level everywhere else too . If you’re going when it’s busy that would swing it towards a club level room rather than DLH but tbh we were here in the Easter holidays and ended up saving all our FP bar one or two and using them the last afternoon because we didn’t need them before that.

Main thing is don’t get sucked in to the obsessing over it. It’s a holiday not an exam or a duke of Edinburgh award- remember you’re going to have fun - it doesn’t need to be perfect and it doesn’t need to be planned to within and inch of its life!

Ps if Mickey and the magician show is still on in the studios when you go then make sure you go see it.

Grinyes I do need to remember that

I think I will stay put for now and wait for the times of the park closing and also the final dx for him plus then ask for a letter. Then decide at the three months mark when I can book meals.

I do need to stop worrying.

Very interesting though to hear other people's ideas on the hotels and distance. Thank you

Haha I love that description, OP you could easily think you were conducting a military operation if you spent much time on that FB page Grin
