Hi

I know its not a day out but was wondering if anyone can help.

Looking at booking a trip to LEGOLAND Denmark next year for 2 adults and 2 children age 7 and 6.

Has anyone been and would you recommend?
Also does anyone have rough costs?. Thinking approx. 3 days and 2 nights.
I tried looking at flights but they were really expensive
Would like to do May/June time

Any tips?

One of my children has severe ASD as well so I presume they also do some sort of que assist like most uk theme parks? Both kids love rides and lego and we have been to the UK version 3 times already and have tickets to go at the end of this year again anyway.

Thanks

Have you tried Ryanair as they fly to billund. There is a hotel there not sure about prices. Never understood Danish kroner

We went at may half term this year. Flew with BA, flights around £100 each. Stayed at LEGOLAND holiday village which is 500m from legoland. Has plenty of play space for the evenings and self catering facilities. Park was very quiet - no queues for any of the rides. We stayed in a 8 bed room for £600 for 2 nights including 2 days of park tickets for 6 people.
Everything is closer together than in the uk, no wasps and much cleaner! Will definitely go again.

Been a few times, everyone loved it. It is muuuch quieter than Windsor which will hopefully help your ASD child if dc has any sensory processing disorder.

We usually stay at Lalandia, which is ten minutes walk from Legoland.

It has its own pretty impressive waterpark which breaks up all of the trawling around Legoland. However the waterpark does get extremely busy in summer.

We found Llandia very good value for money. Danes are high on cleanliness and organisation so the houses are great. PM if you like.

handmademitlove - thanks, i didnt look at BA for flights, think i looked at ryan air or klm as easyjet didnt fly from my closest airport and the price was dear. was £100 each a return?

im open to staying either in legoland or very close.

stoicismlight - thanks! my son can be hit and miss with crowds.
both kids also love waterparks so i will check out Lalandia.

do you have a rough price that you paid for flights etc?

Watching with interest.

handmademitlove · 06/07/2018 16:13

Yes, booked at new year.

We stayed at Lalandia too, I'd recommend it, they do a wristband for Legoland+Lalandia+Givskud zoo which is good value, and staying in Lalandia includes wristband access to the water park anyway.
I think we paid about £2k all in inc flights, park entry etc. for a week in late May for 4 of us (kids over 12 so counted as adult flights). We could have got cheaper, but upgraded the chalet.

do you have to book Lalandia seperate to legoland or can you pick Lalandia through there website?

I booked Lalandia as a package through Kayak, then got the combo wristband at Lalandia customer service when I got there.

AveEldon · 06/07/2018 17:04

We have booked Lalandia direct and you can then add on LEGOLAND for the duration of your stay
Or just book the day ticket for Legoland separately if you don't want a multi day visit

thanks. im going to look into them all tonight when iv finished work and put the kids in bed.

can the legoland be done in 1 day or will we need a 2 day visit?

we get to skip most ques so waiting in ques wont really be a factor

You could do it in a day but we had two days which was just right with ages 5-13

InMySpareTime · 06/07/2018 20:16

You could do it in a day, but we popped in for an hour or so, most days we were there. It meant we could dip in and out, see only the timed stuff we wanted, and hit the water park when it got hot around lunchtime.
