Looks like next weekend is going to be hot and summer in the city in a word, blows so I want to us to go to the seaside next weekend. Was thinking going to Bournemouth and checking into a Premier Inn overnight on Saturday - are there any other places you might recommend?

You'll need to book fast, locations like that will be fully booked already / sky high prices.

Roughly where are you traveling from in the west mids?

PotteringAlong · 01/07/2018 09:18

In that amount of time from the West mids you can get to lots of places! Most of north wales, Scarborough?

Barmouth or one of the other towns/villages along that coast would be my pick. Maybe Anglesea. All less obvious than South coast which will be rammed with all of London!

I see that's there's availability at Highcliffe Hotel in Aberporth. We live in Birmingham and go to either Aberporth or north Norfolk e.g. Cromer, Sherringham or Hunstanton.

Scarborough is lovely! I was really pleasantly surprised when we went for a day trip while in N. Yorks. It's still got a very genteel Victorian feel to it and a lovely beach (although there is a tacky bit with arcades, etc). There is also a proper Italian gelateria in town.

I was coming on to say Bournemouth, Southbourne particularly. Where did you go?
