First drive on M25 - Nervous!

Hi All!

I'm driving from Bristol to Colchester on Thursday morning this week (leaving at 4am to hopefully miss London traffic) I've driven on motorways before but its my first time on the M25. I passed my test back in December.

I'm particularly nervous as I'll have my 4 month old baby in the back. Going to be taking it super steady will lots of breaks but does anyone have any advice / tips for me?

Thank you

The M25 clockwise (the way you're going) should be fine at that time. You might get a bit of traffic around Heathrow. I use the northern stretch every day at about 7.30am and then south down the M11.

M11 going north (the way you're going) should have little traffic. Just make sure you stick to the left hand lane when getting onto the M11.

If you go south by accident you then have to go all the way down to the north circular as there aren't any exit junctions (thank the Royal Mint at Loughton for that!)

You will be fine Smile

Did you leave the A120'at Braintree and go through Halstead?

It was completely fine! we never even hit any traffic on the way, left at 4.15am and arrived at 9am. Yes, we went through braintree and halstead.

Way back was quite congested but we left at 9am.
