Does anyone know of any decent all inclusive holidays?

We went on a first choice all inclusive holiday a couple of years ago to the Canary Islands, unfortunately we were surrounded by larger louts that were more worried about how long the queue for the bar was, than how their children were behaving.

Are they all like this? If not, any advice on how to find a decent one would be appreciated.

I know I'm like a stuck record recommending this place but I love it! No lager louts, no loud music by the pool etc

Blue Lagoon Village in Kos, Greece is very nice and upmarket. Lots of mumsnetters there.

fairgame84 · 01/06/2018 08:35

Blue Lagoon is on my wish list leccybill. It just looks so huge and busy though.

We stayed at one of the iberostar hotels in Majorca when the kids were younger. We all loved it.

I really like holiday Polynesia or holiday palace in Malaga through jet 2. It has a water park on site which is amazing and it's mainly families that go there so no idiots etc. Highly recommend it. My kids love it and the food is amazing too. X

Another vote for Blue Lagoon Village in Kos.

I know what you mean about it looking huge and busy. And yes it is huge but it never feels busy. We went in August and never struggled to get sun beds at any time of day, no queuing at any of the restaurants, etc.

I’d go back any time. But DH feels it’s a waste of money to go the same place twice!

Martinhal is amazing: www.martinhal.com/ we were there last year and going back this year.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 01/06/2018 08:57

Grand palladium, Ibiza

Ohcomeonn · 01/06/2018 09:07

I've also been to Holiday Village Polynesia, we're actually considering returning this year as it would be fantastic for dd now she's 3 and there's some good deals for sept at the moment (dp has never returned anywhere!)

How old are your dcs?

Mark warner/neilson/martinhal/sani resort have good reviews but theyre way over our budget.

Fieau · 01/06/2018 09:08

Are any of these places suitable for holiday with a 12month old?

Ohcomeonn · 01/06/2018 09:12

@fieau we took our dd to HV Polynesia when she was 14 months. She had a great time - absolutely adored the water park as it had a splash pad, it's also one bedroom apartments. It's a little out of the main resort but the beach is walkable and there are frequent buses to nearby resorts.

Ohcomeonn · 01/06/2018 09:28

@fieau it might be worthwhile you looking at the Tui Family Life hotels. They tend to have small soft plays, aircon baby rooms with a few toys and books, stay and play sessions and a payable baby crèche (if you fancy a break)

Jeremy71 · 01/06/2018 10:35

Thanks all. Personally I much prefer villa holidays because you can almost guarantee a bit of peace and quiet! My wife however wants to try another all inclusive. We have 3 kids, 8, 5 and 2. Our last all inclusive offered free kids places, perhaps that's where we went wrong.

@ohcomeonn thanks they look good. Will just be a bit of a step down from our Pre baby luxury holidays GrinWink

Ohcomeonn · 01/06/2018 11:57

@fieau haha us too, we wouldn't have been caught dead at an all inclusive or chain hotel before dd, but, tbh, they've been such easy holidays that I can't see us doing anything else for a while.

Fieau · 01/06/2018 14:42

@ohcomeonn have you been to any of the tui ones and used their baby club? Really like the idea of being able to leave the baby and go out for dinner, but it mentions about them taking the babies to the evening entertainment... Our baby would be asleep so not sure how that works.

Wonder if there are any hotels that offer baby sitting in your room?

Ohcomeonn · 01/06/2018 15:17

@fieau I stayed at the Tui fl in Salou last year. The kids facilities were great but it's the type of hotel op doesn't want to stay at - lots of kids running feral at 11pm which was somewhat irritating for us.

We didn't use the baby club but we took DD to the kids entertainment (which is still quite possibly the highlight of her life - she still talks about it), I don't recall seeing any staff with babies there and I'd be surprised if they did attend as it was noisy.

We have the Tui fl in Sardinia on our shortlist for this year and a friend stayed at the one in Gran Canaria and had high praises for it.

When we've looked at Mark Warner they've had a babysitting service, but as I said, we found it too expensive for our budget but your budget may be higher.

I love this place! Went about 5 years ago with the whole family and it was fab, my sister went back last year and also had a brilliant time.

We’ve done a few Tui Family Life ones and the DC love them:

Atlantica Aegean in Rhodes
Kerkyra Golf in Corfu

Notso · 02/06/2018 08:51

Are Martinhal not all inclusive? Or only if you stay in a hotel room?
I've just tried to book one of the villas but the only option was self catering.
I thought I'd found the dream, villa with private pool but all inclusive.

Jeremy71 · 02/06/2018 12:10

An all inclusive villa - that would be perfect!

skinnyamericano · 02/06/2018 12:14

I think you can stay in a villa at Forte Village in Sardinia on an all-inc basis. Would be ££££ though.

BarbaraofSevillle · 02/06/2018 12:17

Are larger louts fat and loud drunks?

You can get villas with a housekeeper/cook included but I don't know how to find one. Probably aren't expensive compared with some of the AI options mentioned on this thread, which can be £££s.

Jeremy71 · 02/06/2018 16:51

Yes Barbara, they tend to be generally on the large side

Magic Natura! It's an absolute must!
