Costa Rica or South Africa

Will be my big 50 and was thinking would either like to do Costa Rica or South Africa , the dcs will be 12 and 10 .
I’ve heard amazing things about Costa Rica , but also fancy Capetown and a Safari . Any one have any recommendations?

We did SA for DH's 50th - DC were 14 and 15 at the time. Best holiday ever! We travelled in July, and knew the weather might be dodgy, but infact only had a couple of rainy days.

Spent 3/4 days in CT, then flew up to Jo'burg for an overnight before flying to Sabi Sands for 3/4 days on safari. Amazing experience. Then into Zambia for a couple of days at Victoria Falls before coming back to Jo'burg for a couple of days, when we visited Lillesleaf Farm, Aparteid Museum, Alexandra township etc. A real down to earth learning experience after we had enjoyed a pretty luxurious holiday.

Thanks Scopello. would you recommend where you went and what time of year did you go?

Let you know after Christmas - we haven’t gone yet but have already booked flights & accommodation. In Italy atm, mn by the pool!
