Canada - East Coast

We are planning a trip to Eastern Canada this summer.

We plan to fly in to Washington first to spend a few days with family, then fly from there to either Toronto or Montreal.

Please can you share with me what's worth doing/visiting? Obviously Toronto is a must. I've heard Montreal and Ottawa are not worth seeing. What about Quebec?

Grateful for any tips please!

The Ann of green gables farm is somewhere in that location

Depending on what you want to see, I’d recommend travelling from Toronto - Niagara Falls - Ottawa - Montreal.

Or do Toronto then go North through Algonquin Park and cottage country. If you wanted to get another place in then Ottawa could be nice.

Anne of Green Gables farm is in PEI and not anywhere near Toronto.

For great scenery: Newfoundland is stunning. We also liked Grand Manan Island off the New Brunswick coast. The Bay of Fundy is great (biggest tides in world) and you can go whale watching.

Thanks for all the suggestions

Without sounding like an idiot...Is the east coast of Canada similar to the US? we absolutely loved Maine and went whale watching etc there. I kind of want something different out of this trip

As a Mainer, yes Canada is similar but there is enough of a difference

Try Canadian Affair. They did us a bespoke west coast trip, flights, hotels, internal flights, ferries and transfers for much less than 13k.

Flights were with Air Transat and were fine.
