Far East with a one year old

Looking to book a trip to the Far East with DD who is one. Just wondered where in the Far East you have taken your DC around this age? Did you need vaccinations and what did you do to stop mosquitos?
We are thinking of doing Singapore and Langkawi Malaysia as me and DH have been to both places previously so we know them and know Singapore is very clean. But have also considered Bali and Phuket.
Obviously want to avoid any malaria areas. I do remember getting bit a lot in Langkawi though. Wasn't too concerned with me but can't let that happen to DD.

Well you could cover her in chemicals, or cover her up.

I'm sure people have taken children that age, but it's often driven by family or need (work etc).

With so many other places that aren't so prone to bugs and bites. Why?

We just went to Singapore in March with DS who is 2 so slightly older. We decided against Thailand and Malaysia as they are slighly more chaotic (been to all three places before) and seemed a happy compromise. DS got bitten a couple of times on zoo day. He did end up with impetigo which apparently is common among toddlers there. We really wanted to avoid denge fever, which does exist in Singapore, but they are a lot more on the ball than Thailand or Singapore. When he was 1 we went to South Korea, he loved it. We took a back carrier and sling and he loved watching everything. South Korea is lovely. We are booked to go to Japan in July so we will see how that goes.
