New York City - how much was your flight?

Trying to cost up a possible trip to NYC next year. Unfortunately tied to school holidays as DH is a teacher. Would be grateful if anyone’s could share how much they’ve paid for a return flight, so I can see if the Skyscanner prices are comparable.

Looking at Easter holidays, on the basis that the weather won’t be hot and humid like summer, or freezing cold like winter! We’d like to go for a couple od weeks to justify spending all this money on the flights, so that rules out all other half term holiday times.

V grateful for any flight price info!

Anyone used Virgin Atlantic?

MinaPaws · 15/07/2018 20:24

In August £550 pp. Booked way early (about 8-9 months in advance.) That was with United Airlines, I think. It was comfortable. Plenty of legroom, free drinks, food, earphones and slippers, blankets etc.

@Downeyhouse we're using KLM for a long haul next year. They are really good value, aren't they? That's a great price for August. We paid way more and still thought we had a good deal.

Mina we are outside the UK flying an hour from our regional airport to Amsterdam. Not sure is the fact we are a bit closer to Amsterdam helped with the price.
Have not used them before but for that Price we can’t go wrong.

If anyone is still looking Virgin currently seem to have a mega sale on tickets, we booked Man- NYC for £856 for 2 adults 2 children (both over 2) for August 2019

Flew with Norweigen in summer 2016 - £450

£1300 for 4 of us, flights only, had some Avios to use which brought it down to under £1k for the 4. Booked on BA.

We usually do a flight + car or hotel with BA as you can get some great savings (and need only pay a deposit on booking).

Jack's Flight Club is brilliant for highlighting deals as they happen.
