Peak District over May Bank holiday

So in a moment of madness I booked a glamping trip for our sons first birthday next weekend. We are staying in the peak district near Bakewell and I'm now very worried its going to be a wash out with the 3 of us stuck in a glorified wooden shed for 3 days while it rains.

Would love Recommendations of places near Bakewell to visit, we have a car so can travel wherever. I know there is not likely to be much centered around toddlers but he loves a stroll in his pram and we also have a carrier we can put him in.

I think my son would break all the rules in 30's and he does make quite the mess with his toasted tea cake!

Weather is looking better for next week now!

I have a confession... we went to the cafe in Outside instead. By the time we’d got there and DH had bought his new walking boots, we all had grumbling tummies and cafe is really nice and much better for veggis (me). The DC will have to wait a bit longer for the Grindleford Experience.

The menu at the Fox House pub looks great, do you generally need to book a table?

It wouldn’t hurt, even during the week.

The Fox House is part of the Vintage Inns chain and it's OK as chains go.

It does get very busy on summer weekends. I went once post walk and remember that they'd run out of bowls for desserts and I got some Eton Mess on a dinner plate. Service wasn't too awful considering it was busy - they must know how busy they will be and staff accordingly.

The Castle in Castleton is also the save chain as the Fox House, but I think it’s in a nicer place.
