Accommodation is booked. Going with my husband and 13 year old daughter and apart from the obvious main attractions where should we go. Cafes/bistros, river cruises, gardens, etc. I’m veggie and we don’t speak French and haven’t a clue how to use the metro so guess that will be a problem. 🤔🤪 please help

Ok so it's a major European city so you won't see " everything".
Book lunch or dinner at the Effiel Tower so don't have to queue.
The Seine cruises are great. See lotsof stuff without tired feet and crowds have a beer and croque Monsieur.
Museums are huge but the Louvre is great. Don't expect to do it all.
Everywhere has nice food. Don't spend half the evening trying to find an obscure road with a resturant recommendation. Just go with something that looks ...nice!

Whereabouts are you staying? There are bound to be some nice restaurants and brasseries on every street corner.

We always enjoy taking a bateau mouche trip along the river (a good way to take the weight off your feet if you've been walking around all day). Central Paris is very walkable for the most part, although you'll probably want to take the metro to get to Montmartre for instance.

The metro is fairly simple. Pick up a "carnet" of 10 tickets at the Gare du Nord. There are plenty of machines selling them with English instructions, or the people in the booths all speak English there. The lines are all numbered, and the direction is determined by the final stop on the line. So to get to the Funicular up to the Sacre Coeur, you can get line 2 towards Parte Dauphine getting off at Anvers, or line 12 towards Aubervilliers getting off at Abbesses.

Everywhere does not have nice food if you are veggie! Loads of menus have no veggie options at all. I've found Salons du The (missing an accute accent, sorry - tea rooms) quite often have a choice of veggie quiches but they tend not to be open in the evening. Otherwise, we tend to eat in Creperies which always have several veggie galettes, Italian restaurants, or buy delicious things from markets and supermarkets for picnics. There are a handful of veggie restaurants in Paris although some of them can be a bit virtuous / macrobiotic.

Thank you. We are staying in the Bastille Area. I will check out your suggestions

Personally, I wouldn't bother with going to the Eiffel Tower. I would go to Montparnasse Tower and look at it from there. With the high security at the minute, there are massive queues and it feels way less romantic!

If you like ice cream, go to Ile de la Cite to Bertillon - gorgeous ice cream!

Definitely do a boat trip - you'll see loads of sites that way.
