Where are you going?

Stockholm is lovely

Lots of water - we went on a boat ride & to the Astrid Lungren (sp) museam - but 1 is a bit young I think

DD went to a zoo when she went with my mum

There are some lovely lakes & you can jump into them & swim

It's expensive to eat out & especially to drink alcohol

Not much help sorry

Which time of the year are you planning to go?

I hope you don't mind if I jump in on this thread. its just that we're also going to Sweden this summer with our 5.5 dd so am interested in the response.

We're staying in a tiny village an hour from Gavle with family, and then spending 4-5 days in Stockholm. So any suggestions for older children in Stockholm would be a huge help as would a recommendation of a family friendly hotel in Stockholm?

A few places which I would recommend for families - Skansen, a fab zoo/museum located on Djurgården, where you will also find Junibacken (Astrid Lindgren's world). The Vasa museum is also worth a look but maybe a little more suited to older children. There's also Gronalund, a lovley amusement park, right by the water, I think that's open until September.

You could also get on a boat and head out into the archipelago, take a picnic and some mosquito repellant though.

In the city centre I would recommend Kulturhus - it has a fantastic childrens room and library and the restaurant on the top floor is worth a visit (and really well priced too).

I'm not sure about hotels, but it is such a child friendly place I can't imagine any of them being difficult.

Can you tell where I live?
