Hi am planning on travelling with 9month old 2 Rhodes in June. Am now starting to panic and wonder what I need to do/ take etc!

Ok heres the list can you please give me some answers?......

  1. Do you take your own car seat? Am on a package holiday so there will be general transfers between airport/ hotel. Do you take yours? Or have lo on lap?
  1. What do you about food? Milk? He's eating solids but couldnt eat a 'main' meal without mashing it up 1st. Do you eat in buggy or sit at table?
Milk.. He's on formula do you take powder or ready made? He has 2 9oz bottles a day, what do you do?

Any general advice would be great!!

Have got night flights so hopefully he'll sleep but am hoping that we have a smooth journey!

OK I've never taken my car seat on holiday. We always hired one if we needed one.
Food - DS was baby led weaned, which really helps when travelling as you can get food anywhere. I wouldn't take food, I'm sure you'll be able to get something your DC can eat.
Milk - I always took a packet of powdered and used bottled water (check for low sodium) in travel kettle to make it up. We always made sure we stayed somewhere that had a fridge in the room so we could cool water down.
Flight - make sure you have milk for him to drink on take off and landing as it's the only thing that helps them pop their ears.
Also Mothercare do mosquito bracelets which I recommend you get. Ours were a godsend.
Hope this helps.

DS has been abroad a lot since he was born (he's now 14m) and you have to be more organised than before kids, but it's fine.

Oh! Keep think it's going to be like taking EVERYTHING that I would need at home!

I know that I'll end up taking so much that we're have to pay excess! lol!

Am going to try and get DS to eat more 'normal' food to make it easier!

Also quick question..Do you take a travel cot? I have asked for 1 but am not sure on taking my own to use by the pool etc?

I only take mine if we can't get one there. But DS sleeps on a sheepskin so we take that and his teddy bear to make it more like home. Have a Bugaboo so he sleeps really well in that by pool, in restaurants etc. By pool we always get him his own sunlounger as well so he can lay on that (harder now he's mobile but we put him in the middle and push ours right up to his).
