Hi all I need help! I am going to Prague next Monday and meeting up with a friend from a different country there for a few days. I am trying not to think about leaving my two girls which I rarely do (19mths and 9yo with ASD) as I need a break from everything desperately! However due to working ft and demands at home I haven’t had chance to research at all and friend is a planner- her disapproval is wafting through the WiFi at meBlush please can anyone recommend the must do and see things for you in Prague and also any food recommendations Grin many thanks! Smile

The old town square and the amazing Astronomical Clock. Watch it spring to life each hour.
The Lennon Wall - a wall full of graffitied tributes to the singer.
The Dancing House - two adjoining towers and unique curves that resemble two dancing figures, an effect heightened by the fact one of the towers is shaped like a woman wearing a skirt (hence the nickname, "Fred and Ginger") While the building consists largely of offices, great views can be enjoyed from the top floor restaurant (a café is also located on the main level).
Botanical garden - stunningly beautiful in spring. Not to be confused with the smaller university botanical garden.
Spanish synagogue - beautiful and peaceful
You're bound to go to Wenceslas Square at some point. When you're there you MUST go to Vytopna Railway restaurant! Your drinks are brought to you onboard a miniature railway train which weaves on a network of railway lines around the restaurant and even across your table. We were fascinated by the tunnels, drawbridges, ponds etc...The food is mostly pasta and pizza, reasonably priced and a good view over the square.

Thanks krispie, that’s really helpful! I will do a bit of extra research on some of your suggestions today in between entertaining childrenEaster Grin the railway restaurant sounds great! My friend hasn’t replied for w while; I’m choosing to assume she is busy over the easter weekend rather than giving me a taste of my own medicine!!

Prague is very walkable. Both times I've been I have taken walking tours from the main square - one of the Jewish quarter and one a more general history tour. So interesting - the guides are lovely and very knowledgeable. You can just turn up and pay directly - no need to book ahead, you just need to know what time the tours leave.

There's a funicular railway that takes you up Petrin Hill, There's also an observation tower up there. Prague Castle also worth a visit, great views from the walls. Walk across Charles Bridge. Wish I'd known about that Railway Restaurant - sounds fab Smile
