Filling time with children on a beach holiday

Hi all, my children are 10 &5 we are taking them away in the summer on their first warm holiday. We are self booked and self catering so I can't imagine there will be lots of children around the pool in our little apartments. We were planning on filling days at the beach and pool and then a few meals at night and hopefully we can have a glass of wine.
I'm worried now that this won't be enough to fill their time? We are away for 14 nights. Any tips or advice please?

If they're anything like my two they will make friends at the beach and spend hours digging holes and building castles and moats. If you think when you were a child....you didn't need any specific things to do, kids make their own fun and this should give you time to relax.

Personally I would do a bit of research and see what else there is locally to do/visit. We love pool/beach holidays but still like to have a few days out to break the weeks up a bit.

Can you tell us where you are going? Will you have a car?

Some travel board games, in the event of a wet day. Some DVDs to watch for the same. Coca colas at half past four every day, or similar. A new holiday book each to read/have read to them. And definitely buckets and spades.

Can you hire bikes? We had bikes on our last holiday and every morning we'd go on cycle to a nearby village to buy a picnic which we'd take back to the beach.
Are there any water sports at the beach you're going to?

If it's in the Med, there are often good free playparks near the beach so look out for those.

If you are going to an apartment complex in the school holidays, there will probably plenty of other children around, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Google the area to look for the 'visit location' website and there will be a section on what to do with children to give you more ideas.

There is a really large play park about 15 minutes walk from the apartment with zip wires and things. There are also motorised cars and things in the town centre. Also there is an aqua park just out of town too.
Thank you for your answers.❤️

Try Geocaching- we love it and play where ever we can! Often abroad when we want to explore the area and spend some time off the beaten track.

Have you had a look at the tourist website for the town you are staying , or nearest big town? They usually have a section of things to do with families. Often there are some small museums that are good for kids (not as boring as it sounds). If you don't fancy just sitting on the beach all day have a look what there is half an hour inland, hire a boat for the day, 'glass' bottomed boats for a trip, snorkeling, boat excursions to other towns, any wildlife parks or zoos nearby. If you want to escape the heat a trip to the cinema for the afternoon.
