Disney Florida - how much we talking??

So my husband and I would really love to take our kid to Florida. We went with family in 2013 as a surprise family holiday so I have no idea about how much these things cost.
It would be 2 adults, 1 3 yr old and 1 just under 2. And probably around October time.
We were thinking of booking a Disney holiday as a package

We have been four times and tend to do 10 nights at disney on site and four nights at universal on site. Its now an 8-9k plus spending money holiday for us which includes accommodation and tickets for disney and universal (2 adults, a 13 YO and an 11YO). We generally stay at Saratoga Springs or Animal Kingdom Lodge and go when the free dining is on.

The flights are expensive and so you can get it down a bit by using indirect flights.

Honestly i would wait until they are a bit older. I mean they will enjoy it, but they would enjoy a day in the park just as much at that age. Not to mention it's much more difficult to travel with a 3 and 1 year old. I think for maximum enjoyment you are looking a few years down the line.

Unless you are able to afford to go again and again but that would probably spoil your own enjoyment so by the time the kids were really into it you would have had enough.

Just so you are aware: children 2 and under are free at Disney World, so that will lower your costs a little. I have to agree with others who have said they are too young to go.. they won’t remember any of it at that age (my first trip was when I was 5 and I only remember snippets). You may find they get very frazzled by the crowds and craziness. We took relatives aged 2 and 4 this year and despite spending all the money on disney tickets their favourite part of the holiday was swimming in the hotel pool!

However, if you are really going for yourselves, and just using the kids as the excuse to go.. fair enough!
