Alternative to travel cot?

We are taking my ds (23 months) away next month to a house without a cot. I don't have a travel cot and as he is getting quite big now, I don't really want to buy one just for this trip. I think I've seen toddler roll out bed things, with buffers to stop them rolling off, (although can't think where I saw it) but if there is such a thing, where would I buy it and are they any good? TIA

You mean a ready bed, think they do a toddler version and child version - try argos or woolworths like this although you can get plain ones too.

Thanks LIZS, that's exactly what I mean (I hadn't imagined it, then!). DO you know if they're any good? I suppose £30 isn't TOO bad if it turns out that ds can't / won't sleep on it

no idea tbh but I'd be tempted to get the full size one if he is tall-ish as you may at least get more use from it.

vertbaudet did a special offer on one called under the sea my ds likes his

if there is a bed there he could sleep in, why not buy a bed rail like this

DD2 is 19m and i am using this instead of a travel cot already.

I hadn't even thought about bed rails! Will have a look at those, too.

ahhh ready beds, are they any good for a 10 month old? sorry to interrupt!!

amidaiwish · 07/05/2007 22:06

no, i think he/she would be too young.

I have a pump up single bed and I used that when My Ds was about 2yrs.

On the floor , cant roll out and I tucked it between my bed and the wardrobe .

no SR I would n't use one for a baby, they could get covered up by the sleeping bag section and overheat as well as being less than secure. You 'd be better off using a travel cot.
