MSC Cruise - advice and with a teenager?

Vaguely looking at a cruise for early July (after DS's GCSEs). Possibly just me and him (16). Would there be stuff for him to do on board at that time? What are cabins like to share (not that comfortable sharing with a 16 year old boy but I guess it's cheaper than two cabins!). Just looking at maybe a week in the Med on a MSC Cruise as someone said these were quite good value for money but happy to take other advice. I've never done a cruise before so any advice would be good in fact! Thanks.

Not MSC, but P&O virtually sold out for 15-17 age group for July this year as soon as they went on sale. I know it's a popular choice if you can take advantage of not being tied to school holidays for the first time in years.

Thanks for the information. I guess I should try and sort something quickly if I'm going to.

If he's sociable, there is a teens group he can hang out with. They gather with an activities leader, and quickly sort themselves out.

I'm travelling with my 16 year old DS this summer on our 4th MSc cruise.

There's not a great deal of space in the cabins, but 1 can change in the bathroom while the other is in the room.

My DS has never been one for joining in organised activities, but they have teen based groups and themed area on deck. There's things like ten pin bowling for an extra cost, and they have selection of board games and playing cards.

If you go all inclusive on the drinks your son can order soft drinks/icecream on his cabin card, or you can put money on a prepay teen card which he can then use.
