How do you entertain yourself on a long haul flight

I have a ten-hour flight coming up soon. I plan to download some films I've been waiting to watch and take a couple of books.

Any other suggestions on ways to pass the time?

I'm actually looking forward to the flight now.

Oh god Id kill for a long haul flight alone. No need to get up, no kids to bother me. No housework or work to do.

Id take a book, download a podcast season (recommend Serial or Dad wrote a porno). Eat all the food. Watch whatever was on those little tvs. Id take a notebook and pens and draw floorplans of houses I would like to live in.

Valium and gin

People watch. People are fascinating!

IFE and gin usually.

Sleep and films. Love using the live satellite and map view to see where we're flying over too.

2 years ago we went to Australia and I packed magazines, iPad, book, colouring book. I could have wept carrying it around with me and didn’t use anything at all. Just watched films. Hardly slept a wink.

Noise cancelling headphones, wine and lorazepam.
