Luxury family resort in Puerto Pollensa, Majorca. Can you recommend please?

Looking to travel early June for 1 week to Majorca. Family friendly hotel, but we like a bit of luxury. Half board or all inclusive, or will consider Aparthotels. I think all inclusive would suit us best.

Looked at different resorts and Puerto Pollensa sounds lovely. The only reservation I have is transfer times, so if you can suggest anywhere else nice we would definitely consider it if it was nearer the airport.

It will be me and DH, and 2 DC aged 2 and 4. So some activities for them would be nice, and a good choice of pools. L

We would like somewhere with a good choice of restaurants and food on site as we are pretty lazy on holiday and don't want to venture too far!

For the room we would ideally like some kind of suite so the kids can sleep in a separate room so we can relax in the evening and not have to go to sleep at 8pm!

I've looked at Aparthotel Club del Sol & Spa which looks very nice. So something along these lines. It says they offer all inclusive but I can't find an option on this website to book it so not sure of cost. This may be out of budget.

I would say a budget of £3000 including flights and transfers.

We have been holidaying in the UK since being pregnant with our first DC, and this will be our first family holiday abroad so any advice appreciated.

It's years since I booked a holiday abroad so I'm a bit out of touch with where to look.

Thanks in advance lovely MNers!

Not sure on accommodation as we tend to book a villa but Puerto Pollensa is only 45mins from the airport on the main road. Nothing in Majorca is more than about an hour really (unless right on south east coast and involving very windy roads).

Nono - thanks for that. Oh well that has put my mind at rest, I had read it was 1 hour and 45 minutes! Maybe that was if you were on a bus doing stops at 20 other hotels! We would book private transfers I think anyway.

We may look at villas actually. Where would you recommend looking for villas? Through a travel company or direct via somewhere like TripAdvisor?

Really appreciate the advice.

We booked via James Villas and hired a car through them too (and sorted flights - all really easy). Stayed in Alcudia once and Pollensa once, both lovely villas with pools and we had a great time. I would recommend a car if you are at a villa and not a hotel with all the facilities, though.

Not really luxury but ideal for young children and all inclusive but horses for courses. When ours were younger but slightly older than yours we did all inclusive at the Bonaire in Cala Bona and the Playa Mar in Puerto Pollensa. Both were very hygienic none of us were ill and their was a good choice of food for adults and children and plenty to keep them occupied at night time. From the Playa Mar it is a lovely walk into PP along the Pine Walk. Both are close to beaches.

Rhubarb - thanks for that, I will have a look at those resorts.

Nono - thanks. I think we are actually swaying towards a villa. Asked DH and he likes the idea and would be happy driving a hire car there. I've never driven abroad so think I would be a bit scared!

Don’t worry, you’ll be fine. Apart from Palma the island isn’t very busy so it’s quite easy once you get used to everything being on the other side of the road to what you expect!

We found the AI worked fine at that age as I loved the break of not cooking, wiping tables, picking up crumbs and trying to please everyone with food. Whereas with AI very fussy DD could have as much as she wanted of what she wanted, DH got his meat and DS and I experimented with lots of different foods. The kids met lots of friends and had lots of fun so days and nights were easy. When they got a big older we moved away from AI to apartments and we are now back to hotels with good pools but only do breakfast and eat out at night.
