Days out Newcastle

Going to Newcastle for a week over Easter. Looking for inspiration of where to take the kids as haven't been since I was a child and that's when we used to visit Metroland and Whitley Bay.

Anywhere up to an hour away.

Exhibition park for a run about and feed the ducks and a lovely cafe.

Cycle hub in the quayside hires bikes, and serves food, there’s a cycle path runs along the Tyne and is perfectly flat.

Diggerland does seem overpriced especially as there will be 5 of us and for the amount there is to do there.

What is there at Beamish?

Seen Tynemouth Park is it worth a trip to?

Was looking at flamingo land and light water valley which seemed quite far but seem to be closed the weekend we are going, Easter hols must be the following week.

If weather improves I would say Alnwick Gardens and take swimming costumes so they can play in the water features. Probably not worth it if weather doesn't improve!

Beamish is good, it will be busy though so make sure you get there early as they do close when full. Your tickets last for a year so you can plan another trip in.

Thanks for all the ideas, I'm researching them all, like to have my days all planned before I go anywhere.

Is Beamish a museum?
