Please tell me about Lisbon

Hi want to take DH away for a couple of nights in October for his birthday.
Had originally thought about sorrento but a couple of people have mentioned Lisbon and how nice it is.
Anyone been ? What's it like ?

To add another option, we've just been to Seville and I think I loved it even more than Lisbon. Glorious weather in February so I imagine October would be similar. Lots to see in two days and very easy to walk around the main sights.
