Are there any questions? We went too the four main parks. Also I have an invisible illness and had a disability access pass if anyone has any questions?

How was it ? My son has sn and can walk but not far so needs a chair of some sort . Do they let you go up the exit ramp like in uk parks ?

mailfuckoff · 01/03/2018 14:54

They have special wheelchair entrances or you stand in normal queue, I could get a call back time so I didn't have to stand in long queues, similar to UK parks. It was called disability access scheme and all 8 in party could be included. Also very few stairs and lots of ramps! We block bought tokens at 10 dollars each for the chair, no questions asked.

Why are you so keen to impart? Seems odd? What's with the "anyone?"
Perhaps no ones bothered?!

starlingsintheslipstream · 06/03/2018 07:28

Why don't you post a review here while it is fresh in your mind?

I have neither a child in a wheelchair or a desire to go to Disney but will often advance search threads to find travel hints and tips for other occasions. Smile

Why not just write a proper review somewhere appropriate?

And you went to. Not too.

I use a wheelchair and DS really want to go to Disneyland. We are going to wait until he's a bit taller so he can go on all the big rides.

Any info on how the disabled aspect works would be great. I've limited experience of theme parks in the UK, Legoland Windsor was really great once we got set up, but that bit was a bit confusing and took a long time. I was asked for proof of disability. Which I did not have with me, only my wheelchair, they kindly let me off! Would be goos to know all the tips on that front and wheelchair accessible taxis? From the airport, and from/to accommodation and theme park. Or is it best to hire an accessible car? Wheelchair is electric and to heavy to lift. TIA

Blimey , let's hope none of your children ever need a wheelchair !!... I'm pretty sure the op was trying to help other people and her just because she wasn't aware if the bump etiquette doesn't mean you have to be nasty 🙄🙄

mailfuckoff · 06/03/2018 11:13

I bumped to help people, because before I went no one could help me with recent and basic information and I had to spend a long time to work it out.
dailymaildicks I will type a fuller answer to you later today.

Sorry dailymaildicks it took me so long to reply. Ds can walk so we hired a standard car so I can't help with adapted ones sorry, lots of people at Disney had electric chairs and you could hire them there (around 70 dollars a day) so I don't know if that was an issue for you? For ds I just hired a chair, no questions asked but that does not get you shorter wait times as the chair can do the queues which I know isn't the same in the UK. As I have an invisible illness and can't queue (or wait in line as they call it) I did talk to guest services who activated an option on my magic band so me and my party of 8 could have a come back time, similar to the lego land way. It meant fir the longer queues I just asked at the front for a come back time and they allocated it based on the queue length (nearly 3 hours for snow White runaway train) then we used the fast track pass entrance at that time. No medical letters required, I just had to explain why I couldn't queue. You can't use the transporters from car to park entrance with a electric wheelchair so you would have to make your own way there while your ds and partner could use the transporter. Please let me know any other questions you have.

Also there is bluebadge parking and if you hold a UK blue badge you can apply for a Florida one ahead of time but you still pay to park, the car park is just closer. We haven't got our UK blue badge yet so just used the normal parking

How bloody rude are some people!!! Just don't read or comment if you aren't interested. And there's a pendants' corner for you to spend your days correcting people's spelling and grammar 🙄
Anyway, thanks OP, we go in August and I can't wait! No wheelchair users in our party though.

TammyWhyNot · 11/03/2018 12:08

It was perfectly obvious to me that the OP was bumping so that her offer of help and info remains visible to the people who most need it.

It can be very hard finding specific info and someone to tell you the stuff that doesn't appear on the info pages and reviews.

Those of you who have been rude and pinickity about grammar have shown your true colours.
