Central New York Hotel recommendations

I am googled out looking at hotels and am hoping I can get some great recommendations. Three of us, me (old gimmer) and my two girls early twenties we are planning to go beginning of October. We are looking for one room which sleeps three, I have been looking round Times Square but I don't mind as long as its central.

Budget is £250-£300 per night.

All help greatly appreciated.

Wow. That’s good to know, I had no idea (clearly).

Makes NYC a difficult destination for families though Sad

Hotel Elysee is a favourite of mine for the free wine and nibbles each day 5-8pm. Their hospitality is great.

They do rooms with two doubles, or a king and a queen.

The Elysee is in the same chain as Giraffe.

Just to second what Attila said, I've got a friend who lives in Manhattan (and DD worked there). You run the risk of being put out of your accommodation if it comes to light that you are subletting.

Oh and we loved the Sofitel, which is central but relatively peaceful. And the beds are divine.

So no AirBNB in New York??

AttilaTheMeerkat · 04/02/2018 22:02

Again you have no real way of knowing whether the apartment rental is as stated, sites do not check the veracity of their listings. Many people have been caught out by this, do not become one of them. NYC apartments generally speaking are also very small.

There are apartment hotels such as Cittadenes. You can get suites where a couch is made up into another bed. Lots of hotels have two double beds in one room. NY isn’t cheap and the hotels are not that much different to London. Doing it on a limited budget is quite difficult.

I wont be looking at Air BNB or similar, I have read similar threads on mumsnet which warn people against them.

Thanks everyone for the recommends, we are now spoilt for choice.
