Is Chicago a good holiday destination?

DH and I are looking at visiting family in Toronto in September/October this year, and combining it with doing something in the States as well.

We love America and so far have been to New York (several times), a lot of California, Florida, Houston, New Orleans, Austin, Dallas.

Would love some suggestions of anything we could do in the north, so the flights aren't too long from London to USA and where we are in the USA to Toronto. I'm a terrible flyer, less time in the air the better.

No kids, just DH and I first holiday alone together now kids are late teens+.

Any suggestions would be fab.

DDs 1 and 2 have both found Iceland Air great value with a stopover in Rejkjavik.

Easter in Chicago may be a snowy time as it is early this year. Spring weather can be wildly unpredictable. Some years there is really no spring at all. You go from freezing to hot almost overnight. A golf oriented holiday plan might need a Plan B in other words.

You are more likely to find prices affected by Spring Break than Easter in the US. Spring Break is the spring school and university break that sometimes coincides with Easter but doesn't always. That being said, Chicago is not really a Spring Break destination because of the weather.
