I looking at exchanging money ahead have you used a travel card such as fair fx or travelex

Ive used the tui version as you can load multiple currencies - my dad used the ice equivalent. Best to use as debit card or lift a lot at once to avoid fees.

Yes.

I had travelex cards - a euro card and a us dollar card. Very useful and quite easy to top up etc.

They expired so I have just recently got Sainsburys currency cards. Again it's all very simple .

I like to take a wad of currency with me plus a pre loaded card. The euro card gets used often as we travel in the eurozone a few times a year.

We use a creation credit card which has no fees on international transactions including upto £2000 in cash.

Have found this to be the cheapest and you get the MasterCard day rate which is about the best exchange rate.

No, I just use my halifax clarity card for all card payments and cash withdrawals (I use my bank app to repay ATM cash same day so no interest charged)

Have never bothered with special prepaid cards.
