Has anyone ever been to either in January or. February? Just to escape the cold here? Is it much warmer there? Just looking for some pleasant weather not too far away!

I went to Cyprus in January and whilst the weather was pleasant to go out and explore and the sun was out, it wasn't hot! We had jumpers and layers on in the day and coats in the morning and evening as it was cold when the sun wasn't out.

I think for nice t shirt type weather you'll have to go to the canaries!

I live n Cyprus and the weather is going from one extreme to the other - torrential rain, high winds and thunder storms to sunshine, although once the sun goes down its pretty cold. I've lived here 14 yrs and February is usually the worst month. I cant speak for Tenerife ☹

Ooh bbc app says 17 degrees in larnaca. Ok will look into canaries but which is warmest?

Costa Adeje in Tenerife is warm in January with good/bad dats and gets quite rainy in February .
Egypt is out sadly but what about Eilat in Israel? Otherwise you need to go to the Caribbean . I think you can get good deals for Santo Domingo in February

KingIrving · 27/01/2018 21:36

good/bad days

Dalesgirl16 · 28/01/2018 18:24

Ive been to costa Adeje in summer funnily enough. Its the only place in the canaries I have been to. Didn't think of Eilat but would presume it's same weather as Cyprus, I will check. No long haul I'm afraid with a baby.

Eilat is far warmer than Cyprus. Same weather as Sharm El Sheik as they are only 200 km apart. Cyprus will be too cold for swimming.
Eilat is at the tip of the Red sea, the water will be warmer

I went to Cyprus in Feb and had a lovely week the sun shone and it was warm enough to sunbathe. Many of the bars and restaurants were closed and lots of oldies there for several weeks but they were good fun.

Hello again, we didn't go away as we prefer Cyprus. Have any of you been there mid May? Would it be warm enough to swim in the sea?

Just as well you didnt come to Cyprus. The weather is always unpredictable at this time of year in Cyprus but we had flooding in Limassol and Paphos on Friday although water rationing is being predicted for the summer as we havent had enough rain overall. I would say it should be warm enough to swim in the sea in mid May xx 😊

Dalesgirl16 · 18/02/2018 17:28

Hi Aphrodite, thanks for the replying. I've been looking on my BBC weather app all the time! Do you know roughly how hot it is mid May? I don't want to go if it's not hot enough for sunbathing and sea but also need to bear in mind I'm bringing my a toddler.

I went to Cyprus at the end of April a couple of years ago and the weather was amazing. Very hot, no rain at all. Would definitely go again at the same time of year.

AphroditeGlitterQueen · 18/02/2018 20:51

Hi Dalesgirl, I would say it will be warm enough for both in mid May. Where are you thinking of going, the beaches are definitely better down Protaras and Agia Napa way for a toddler and its usually a few degrees hotter than up here in Paphos xx

Dalesgirl16 · 19/02/2018 15:24

Thank you. We would be going to larnaca.
