I wonder if anyone can give me some advice?

My wife and I got married in October and we want to start a family straight. She was pregnant for 6 weeks but sadly miscarried 2 weeks ago but we are trying again and the bedroom has again become a very dangerous place for me to loiter for any longer than 3 seconds.....

My question is this; We were planning to honeymoon in the USA this summer (2018) for 4 or 5 weeks but as we are planning on getting pregnant again I am not sure if this is feasible? Our alternative is to travel europe by train for 4 or 5 weeks and I am not sure what to choose? We will take out maximum amount of travel insurance etc but I'm a little nervous as I don't want to make a mistake on where to travel to.

Any advice on which option to choose would be a real help.

Thanks

Is the Zika virus still in parts of America and is it dangerous at all stages of pregnancy? I don't know the answers, but that's where I would start my research.

Flying is fine and shouldn't be a problem with airlines until post 30 weeks. You would need to make sure you take out very thorough travel insurance.

I had a holiday in Europe at 8 weeks (camping!) which I really enjoyed.

However having had previous MC myself by the time I was post 25 weeks I didn't want to leave the UK, but that's just me.

Assuming your wife became pregnant soon, she’d be at most 5 or 6 months pregnant in the summer. You would be absolutely fine to travel to the USA at that time. The only issue would be making sure that you got incredibly comprehensive travel insurance - you absolutely do not want to be stuck with a medical bill if she has any complications!

Congratulations on your wedding, and sorry about the miscarriage.

If you can start a new pregnancy now, go for it because travel would probably be better in the second trimester than first. In the first 12 weeks you can feel crushingly tired. I was flat out on the sofa by 6pm every day. First trimester is also more likely for morning sickness.

Or, wait and spend your honeymoon trying for your baby.

I can tell you that the European Health Insurance card will cover early stage pregnancy and care for a MMC. We had to pay upfront then claimed it all back easily.
Where would your DW feel most comfortable? First trimester can be knackering, so maybe TTC then a gap to avoid it whilst on honeymoon?
