I found a nice villa in Lanzarote but I hear its very windy in the north of the island.

Is there anywhere that's a no brainer for sun and relaxation?

Four hours to Lanzarote makes it perfect. Hire a villa with an electrically heated pool ( not solar) and you can swim even if it is cloudy. Lots of interesting day trips, great restaurants it really is a no brainer.

Would you consider long haul. Mexico would be amazing, and it's not all Cancun craziness. But check your dates don't align with American college (university) spring break as a general rule. It's a long flight but you'd be guaranteed the weather and relaxation. If you just want to lie on a so lounger Dominican republic would work but you will be surrounded by noisy brits/Americans in the big resorts.

You can't guarantee anywhere in Europe that early in my view, so the other option would be to stick with Europe but with an indoor pool?

I went to North Cyprus last April. It was hot 28-31degrees. Sun every day. I lazed around pool for swimming for 4 days and hired car to go about for 3 days. Very cheap. Hotel B and B Including flights about £650 and included car hire and 1 excision to South Cyprus. A 4 hour flight stopping for 30 mins in Turkey en route.

We've been to Lanzarote in April, had a villa in Cala Blanca (south of the island) and it was hot all week, the one day we went to the north it was cooler and cloudy.
