Currency cards in their traditional sense are a faff. I found out about Revolut through the Money Saving Expert site and have used it many times abroad now and won't go for any other option www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/prepaid-travel-cards#revolutglobal

Just use your debit card while you are there. Get $200 in cash from your bank/post office/Sainsbury’s.

But you can face a transaction charge and an admin fee using a debit card. It can be expensive

Get a Halifax clarity card - no fee on foreign currency transactions and the exchange rates are really good

Bear in mind that last time I went to the US all the cash points were charging for withdrawals - that would be as well as your UK bank.

I use a prepaid currency card - no fees to pay/withdraw and good exchange rate. The app to load funds and track balance/transactions works well. We did have a bit of trouble at some outlets in the US - petrol stations wouldn't accept it for some reason

I use Caxton

This ^^
We just took cash and credit card. It worked well for us.

I used a prepaid card and mostly cash. I was told that to withdraw from a cashpoint there would be a charge but I wouldn't have been doing that anyway. Can't recall if I used it much to be honest.
