Hi
We’ve just booked a little holiday to Paris and I’m just wondering if I bring my bugaboo cameleon if it will fit on the metro? We’ve been before pre baby and I THINK I remember narrow barriers??? But not sure. Anyone who knows for sure I would be very grateful for any info. Tia

It sounds like there's at least two adults going, which is always a help. One to hold dc, the other to lift buggy over barrier. I'd advise the buses though. Much more buggy friendly.

You can fit a maclaren through the barriers, but it is not advisable to have stuff hanging off the sides, particularly if you are carrying a large rucksack whilst trying to push your pushchair through - i got caught by the rucksack when i did this. Luckily my friend was behind me and she managed to free me and get through herself when she put her ticket in.

Tldr: if your pushchair is as narrow as a maclaren you fit. But move quickly...

Oh, some metro stations have a wider entrance for families/buggies. Not all though...

Buses are much better. It isn't just the barriers for a buggy but the amount of steps in the metro. I lived in Paris when DS was small and we almost always used the bus (although wide barriers for buggies are more common now the steps are still a pain).

Thanks everyone. Decided we’ll pack the carrier just in case. :)

Good idea. If you do use the bus with the buggy get on at the middle doors, ask the driver to open it for you. If you don't know the French to ask just point at the buggy and point at the door Grin. You can buy a bus map guide at any newsagents or kiosk for a few euro, well worth it if you will be using them.
