Eurocamp style holidays

Hi. We're looking to go on holiday at the end of July to probably France. I've been looking at eurocamp (and a couple of others like venue etc) we want by a beach. Can anyone who's been advise how it's best to book, ie online with eurocamp or through say Thomas cook? I vaguely remember reading about best not to book direct with a site but I can't remember why. Could people let me know of their experiences and maybe sites they would suggest? Tia

We have booked direct with Eurocamp 3 years running.. and found them to be of a decent standard, well organised etc. I think it can be cheaper to book direct with campsite but not necessarily easier. Also bear in mind that things get booked up quickly for school holidays so time is of the essence to have your pick. This applies to ferry too Smile

What sort of area are you looking at? We loved la rive sw coast and Bois des valmerie on med

My research suggests it's often cheaper to book directly. One advantage of booking direct with eurocamp is you can access their own kids clubs etc, but depends if that is important.

I would not book via a third party anyway, more chance of stuff going wrong IMO.

Eurocamp have reduced a lot of kids clubs on sites now, a lot of sites have their own kids clubs anyway

I think it's sometimes cheaper to book directly with the campsite and use the site accommodation. As said above, many sites organise their own clubs etc.

We often book with Eurocamp-I like the fact you can pay off the holiday balance as you wish during the year.

I do think other companies/booking directly can be cheaper. However, unfortunately a few years ago we had a shock family bereavement back in the UK at the start of our holiday. Our insurers were vague about what we should do but Eurocamp were great. Sorted out emergency accommodation for our long journey back, had all the documents for our insurance claim ready quickly and the very young courier at our emergency stop brought us a bottle of wine as wasn’t sure what else he could do. That experience had made me more inclined to book through them again.
