P&O Children's Activities

We are looking at booking a summer cruise on Azura and whilst I can see all the information about The Reef children's club I cannot find anything about children's activities outside that.

Does anyone know what sort of games, discos, classes, sports etc they have which you can do WITH your child? Even better would be a link to the special Children's Horizon Daily Programme, as I couldn't find one on the internet?

I like idea of using the kid's club for our toddler but my DH is worried there's not enough to keep him and the DC entertained!

With thanks in advance

I have a much older teenager who uses the kids club to meet other teenagers who then hit the decks by themselves. The kids club activities are all age specific with treasure hunts, craft activities, parties, footbal/multi sports and so on, so parents aren't invited. I'm struggling to think of organised family activities on board as it seems to be mostly families sitting around the pool & sports areas together on sea days. Azura has the Seascreen for on deck films. What sort of things were you looking for?

They do do some family activities like discos, treasure hunts, some sports competitions but the kids clubs are mainly for the kids.

Thanks for the advice! The kids clubs do seem really well done and who doesn't love a kids disco Glitterball

We went on the Azura last summer with our 7 and 11 year olds and there was pretty much nothing for us to do together. There was 1 table tennis on the whole ship for 3,000 passengers, and our family was constantly kicked off the sports and games courts when the Kids' Clubs came to use them. The Kids' Clubs looked good but we wanted to spend time together as a family. We would not have another holiday on this ship.

Thanks Twig, that was what DH was worried about! Back to the drawing board...

The other thing that drove us nuts was the size of our cabin. We had a family room with balcony. Once the kids bunks were pulled down it was impossible to move around the cabin and DH and I constantly banged our heads on them. The year before we had a short cruise on Cunard's Queen Elizabeth. We booked it at the last minute and were in one of the cheaper cabins and there was almost twice as much room in that as our supposedly superior cabin on the Azura.

Can I ask if you have done a Royal Caribbean cruise?

No, only Cunard and P&O.

No, only Cunard and P&O.

They are the same company.

They are now owned by the same parent company but are different brands WitchesHatRim
