Is there such as thing as an all inclusive holiday villa, which doesn't cost the earth?

Last year we did Eurocamp. Which was lovely but there was too much of doing the same stuff in a different location, cooking washing up etc

This year I'd like to avoid that. So all inclusive seems worth a try, but then I don't want us all to be in one hotel room. The dcs need some space from us and we need space from them! (Dc will be 9&7)

Any suggestions?
Ideally we'd like sunshine, a pool and for me to not bother with cooking. 🙂

You could look on a site like Owners Direct. If you don't want to cook then look for a villa in a picturesque small town that has a choice of restaurants.

Or an aparthotel in an all inclusive resort. No idea where I’m afraid. Does it need to to be all inclusive or do you just mean you want access to hotel food? So, full board?

Or you could get an apartment and eat out most of the time?

Get bread, drinks, ham, cheese, olives, crisps, prepared salad, pizza etc from the supermarket to make quick lunches or evening snack if you've had a big lunch out.

And make sure the other adult in 'us' does their half of the cooking, washing up etc.

I think one way to do this is to eat out at lunch time when restaurants often have a cheaper dish of the day type menu, then have bread & nibbles type meal in the evening, perhaps the odd BBQ that your OH could take responsibility for or a takeaway Pizza night.

We usually self cater at campsites/apartments and this works well for us.

We stayed in a bungalow with private pool at ikos Olivia, which is all inclusive

Many family oriented resorts have family rooms, suites and villas so kids can have their own room. Like this type (totally random hotel) www.thewhitepalace.com/accommodation/family-accommodation/family-apartment.html

We stayed in a family suite here

It wasn’t all inclusive but we stayed full board and the food was fabulous. The hotel is really lovely and the family suite was huge - we definitely had plenty of space for ourselves!

you might be able to get an AI off season for not too much if you can wangle taking them out of school. I think I did a reasonably priced majorica AI holiday once.in october.

Not too much help, but the last couple of holidays we have had in UK, 1) there was a local lady selling home cooked meals that you had to heat up and 2) bought M&S instant meals. Just staying in cottages, Airbnb etc. No sun or pools mind. But wondering if you could do similar in a warmer climate?

Lily2007 · 06/01/2018 23:47

First Choice do a lot, everything is AI and some are apartments rather than rooms. This is one:

The Splashworld range with waterparks are good for that aged kids.

tigercub50 · 06/01/2018 23:48

macnab was there lots to do for kids there? And on the island generally? DD is 9, not particularly sporty & gets bored easily.

There are loads to choose from as long as it doesn't have to be a villa. The link above is all inclusive and offers 2 bed apts
