Hi all
We are going to nyc in Feb as it's my 30th& we are taking our 4 Mo. We are flying 1st (avios-not because we are rich) with BA. Does anyone have any tips?
Many thanks xx

Recently did short haul with 3 month dd. Only thing I know helped was a dummy. It's good for the take off and landing as it helps stop the ear pain they get from pressure changes of take off/landing. And I found plane very cold for her so extra blanket.

Sorry I don't have more.

Hope you have an amazing time and happy birthday when it comes.

Are you breast feeding? Feeding during take off and landing helped.
Flying first will be a doddle- plenty of room, nice lounges before take off. You will have a great time. Also I found the staff were all keen to help out with a little one- they did everything to help make it easy.
BA have a choice of bassinets- either cot type or something more like bouncy seat. Although mine didn’t sleep in them, gave us space to put her down for little bit and have a wriggle.

Book a bassinet and buy a CoziGo (special airline bassinet blackout cover) to go over the top - best money I ever spent. Flying first will be a breeze at that age and you'll find the staff on board really helpful.

Flying at that age is great. Especially if breastfeeding but if not you can get the pre-made formula in boots in the departure lounge.

My tip would be never to travel without a sling. Even if you get the pram tagged at check-in and take it to the gate (always do this) sometimes they don't return it at the plane at the other end and it can be a long walk to and through customs to just have baby in your arms. Even more important as they get bigger and heavier.

Get backpacks for carryon stuff - so much easier than carrying a million and one bags around the airport. Hardest part for us was always getting on and off the plane. Easier in first as you won't have to queue.
