Very close to booking this as it seems to have all we need for a holiday.

Just wondered if anyone has stayed and has any do's and don'ts or rooms we should avoid or ask for?

just stayed in Feb for a week - lovely resort - huge - lots of people (it wont be quiet and peaceful!) , good location for beach etc. Great for kids they seem to have lots of activities and special kids pool and play areas etc. You are very much in the minority if you do not have at least one child and a buggy (I do not have any kids and am TTC so it was pretty full on!!) Food OK - again kid friendly buffets. Rooms nice but ask for one near the beach end of the resort as we were in one nearer the main lobby and it was nosiy as night, music etc.

The reviews here are helpful.

HTH!

Oh thanks Seaside-was beginning to despair-all reviews look great but is going to be very exoensive-three adults and a two year old so really wanted some first hand info-thanks.

Glad to help - I have to say dinners in the restaurants were quite expensive, lunch in the cafe by the pool was not so bad. Our room (and I think all rooms) had a fridge and microwave and there are a couple of supermarkets nearby so a good option for snacks etc. And it is easy to walk to other resturants for dinner so would advise that. (Also take a bag to beakfast as that is an all included buffet and you can stash away fruit etc for later!!)

Went with then 6 month old in November. Fab place and we don't usually like the Canaries - Great set up - own kitchenette with micro. I wouldn't eat anything but breakfast in the hotel - which is great, but really good reasonably priced and child friendly places just a 10 minute walk away where your lo can sit in their buggy and hopefully (!!) snooze whilst you eat in the evenings. The hotel can't do enough for you. I'd get a room on the top floor if I were you - less noise from above.
We went with Thomson who I think work out the cheapest if you don't mind their flight times.

Thank you both-really helpful-good luck with ttc Seaside.

Quick question-how far is it from the airport?
Am booking flights and hotel seperately so will need to suss out the cost of a taxi to and from the airport.

Also-what is the beach like-enough sand nearby to keep a 2yr old happy?

Personally, I'd hire a car as it'll work out the same as a taxi both ways plus you can then explore. The hotel beach is perfect for all ages as it's a big public sandy beach. If you want to reduce costs a bit why not look at the Rubicon palace hotel which is not in such a good location but looked fab when I dropped in and will be masses cheaper.

Not sure if the Yaiza is worth the ££££ ectra.

DEE7479551 · 04/05/2007 13:36

Ooops, airport is 30 -40 minute drive.

Whoooosh · 08/05/2007 11:08

Thanks Dee-we have booked Yaiza now and leave in 10 days time-can't wait.

Oh the joy of crdit cards...till the next statement arrives!
