Disneyland Paris advice

After much debate over warm all inc holiday or theme park the rest of the family have voted DLP.

So lots of questions. Have been searching online too but thought I would get good advice here. Looking at 4/5 days. 2 adults, 3 kids(3,4,7) Budget of £700-800. Inc park tickets.

When would be quieter, February half term which is 9-19 feb or Easter which is last week of March and first week of April.
Weather would be a factor too, will it be too cold February half term.

Accommodation is another thing as Disney hotels r very expensive so not sure where would be cheaper and how transport would work. Would we be better hiring a car?
How easy it is it to drive?

Would also like to do a few other touristy things like Eiffel Tower which seems to be over an hour away from Disney parks. So that's another factor in accommodation location.

Have seen a hotel called Explorers? Anyone stayed there? Would preferably like somewhere near a mall where we could go to a food court in evenings to eat on a budget.

Also visit a hyper market? Which is the best?

All advice and experiences welcome.

This is what I couldn't understand with on site Disney hotels and the need for a shuttle bus! Because off site hotels also have shuttle buses! Annual pass is the way we have gone so no one trip has massive pressure on it to get everything done... Find everything!

We’ve been in September (in school time), twice in May and once in August.

Personally would never go in a colder month. It will still be busy enough.

Plus, if you do get annual passes, one of them includes magic hours (early access to rides).

Plus, they do fastracks, for free.

We’ve done all UK theme parks, and DLP. Absolutely love DLP.

We did first holiday in May for around £1200 for the week for 4 of us (hotel apartment £600, Eurostar £200, annual passes £400 ish)

Went back in August for one week for £700, as already had passes.

They went back following May, for £900, for a week.

They were bargains though, I researched like a demon.

But we had a whole week there, watched fireworks every night, went into Paris too, saw Eiffel Tower etc.

As we’ve done whole weeks, we never get anyone trying to pack it all in on a weekend. It’s impossible.

We have done Disney hotels too (dream, explorers) but our favourite place is the hipark. It’s lovely. One room in a hotel vs an apartment and cooking facilities. No contest.

Food on site is awful, but there is a Mac Donald’s in the Disney Village area.

We cannot afford to go back, it was a one off (3 times in one year!) but it was the best time of our lives bar none, and would love to help others get a good deal.

Also, we’ve been in August, and we still got on rides.

It’s open until 11pm (or was when we went) and it’s fantastic. You can split the day up, go back to apartment, come back in the evening, some rides will be quieter.

Your children’s ages will mean they’ll only be going on the little rides anyway. Kids pay over the age of 3, but (its massively frowned upon on MN) you might get away with her/him if they’re tiny and look younger than 3.

Our little girl at the time was 2, so no annual pass needed. But we went back and she was 3, and they never asked, so we never said anything. To be fair all the money went into their Disney shops anyway!

I'm going in the first week in August.
We would rather get a taxi than a shuttle bus but there seem to be quite a few companies.

Can anybody recommend one from personal experience which can guarantee a car seat for a 3 year old and a booster for a 5 year old?

Grandadwasthatyou · 29/01/2018 16:34

Hopeful bump?

Grandadwasthatyou · 01/02/2018 19:37

Anyone please?

We stayed at a Disney hotel hotel Cheyenne a Disney cowboy themed hotel cheap and cheerful. With a play area which the kids liked.
It was great because it was a short but lovely walk to the park along a path following the river.
As it was a Disney hotel we got an hour in the theme park before it opened properly on a morning so we could quickly get on a goodly number of rides in that hour while it was quiet which was well worth it.
I looked to see the cheapest time to go so we went something like the 22nd of April on a Tuesday or something a goodly few years ago, booked the hotel with Disney and we got cheap flights with a budget airline. I took DS out of school and DD hadn’t started school yet.
I can’t remember the price.
Top tip take plenty of cereal bars or something with you to the parks as food costs a fortune and little ones are always hungry.
If you have girls take a Disney princess costume with you as a lot of little girls dress up and the ones on site lovely as they are cost an absolute fortune.
A friend lend us a Euro Disney book which had some great top tips about queuing and which rides to prioritise etc.
If I were you I would opt for April as the first day was extremely cold much colder than the UK or than we had anticipated then it warmed up nice but wasn’t too warm.
