Double buggy, Dlp and Eurostar

DDs will be 9 months and 3.5 years when we go to Disneyland Paris in Feb. We are getting Eurostar from Ebbsfleet direct. Currently debating whether to take a single pushchair and then hire another for older DD when we get there. Or buy a cheap phil and Ted's on ebay and take it on Eurostar.

My older DD is not in a pushchair at home but gets tired if walks a lot and v challenging when tired!

My question is how easy is it to take a bigger pushchair through customs and get on the train and store in luggage racks etc? (when folded). DH has a back problem, and i can see me doing any heavy lifting and folding on my own. Is it a real scrum at Ebbsfleet etc?

Also would Phil and Ted's be best pushchair?
Thank you

Afaik people getting on the eurostar at ebbsfleet/ashford intl are spread fairly evenly along the train ie they are not all crowding onto one carriage, so it should not be a scrum as you are getting on.

There is plenty of room for all, but the most massive suitcases above the seats in the train carriage, which in theory leaves the large racks at the end of the carriages free for oversize items. However, space that might have been available may not be at Ebbsfleet because everyone else travelling will have got on at st Pancras and won't have considered people getting on after them.

Having written this, I realise i have not answered your question, but hopefully I have given you some more information...

Getting a larger pushchair theough customs shouldn't be a problem, but it will need to be lifted on to the scanning machine. I imagine someone could help you with this if needs be.
