Honeymoon in Jan/Feb

Looking to book somewhere warm in Jan/Feb. Got married earlier in the year but going later.

Where would anyone recommend?

We like the idea of a few days in a city/town first then going on to a beach/countryside but are open to any ideas. Just beach instead could be relaxing to!
Don't want to do endless internal flights though which I know is a sticking point but we just want to directly get to the country and not have to fly about getting anywhere.
We want luxury if at the beach! But don't have a huge budget.. About 3000 absolute max. Is that unrealistic?
Thank you

Also how unbearable is thailand heat? I've been to Hong Kong and it was damp and sticky. Is it worse?

Japan would be amazing but it was working out so expensive

We didn't find it too bad when we were there.
We stayed in mid range business hotels, travelled using m.jrpass.com caught metros and buses.
We flew to Tokyo
Train to Kyoto
Train to Hiroshima
Train to Osaka - flew back from Osaka.
Food was no more expensive than London.

Cuba is beautiful. Havana is relaxing for a city and there's some gorgeous countryside and beaches.

Vietnam also but not sure about the weather there in Jan. I'd recommend Hanoi for the city bit with a trip to Halong Bay and the coast in between. Ha Noi is also very pretty. We went in April and it was hot and sunny.

If the budget is £3000, even if that’s per person, Japan may be difficult and Jan/Feb is their winter.

Your money will go a lot further in South Africa and I would look at Cape Town, the Garden Route and maybe Addo Elephant Park if you do not want to fly up to Kruger. You can end the tour in Port Elizabeth and fly home via Durban from there. Lots of lovely places to stay and I highly recommend guest houses. South African ones excel.

In case of beaches are they important for you with sunbathing and swimming? If yes, than for this time it's better to choose really warm countries. From my own experience I can recommend Dubai, Shri Lanka and Oman, for this period there definetely will be enough warm for such type of vacation, also all these places are perfect for romantic trips, for example, our couple spent honeymoon in Oman and this place left amazing memories for us about that time! Smile
Also if beaches are more important for you in case of walkings and simple enjoying with local nature and sea view, I can recommend Barcelona and Latvia. Barcelona will be definetely amazing in case of weather for this time, besides except for beaches there are many other interesting places and local events. Latvia will be colder, however not so bad as some other European countries, it has amazing historical architecture in Riga and other cities, also very beautiful beaches in Jurmala greentourbaltic.com/tourcats/latvia/ so in my opinion it's an other perfect place for romantic vacation.
And yeah, both in case of Latvia and Barcelona you won't need to make any more inner flights, there are very comfortable speed trains and buses for moving across the country. The prices aren't too high for transport too.

Dubai and then the Maldives. It's only a 4 hr flight from Dubai.

Cuba. A few days in Havana, a few days at the beach, then a trip to the vinales, lovely countryside where they grow the tobacco.
