Helsinki and Lapland - clothing advice would be very gratefully received

I’m off to Helsinki and Kakslauttanen at the beginning of December and would really appreciate some advice on what clothing I’m going to need.

I live in London so pretty much never experience extreme weather - if it gets really London ‘cold’ I just put a slightly bigger scarf on. I’m pretty sure this isn’t going to work in Lapland.

If anyone has a list of basics/must haves I’d be very grateful to see it.

Going to dinner just wear a warm coat and hat and gloves so you can take it off easily in the restaurant as it'll be warm inside (buildings tend to be kept at least 22 degrees inside, often warmer) and normal clothes under, maybe long johns under your trousers as well.

Natsku with a couple more layers in Lapland, I guess.

Thank you, you've been very kind and patient Flowers Flowers

If you have to walk far to the restaurant then a bit more in Lapland, it's only around -10 up where kakslauttanen is at the moment so not too cold.

Just wanted to say thank you for the posters who helped me out here. I used the lists you gave and took exactly the right amount of clothes - I didn't have a single item that wasn't worn and I didn't feel as if I was missing anything.

I wish I could go back and just not worry as much (actually, I just wish I could go back, I miss the snow). I had a wonderful time and I'm grateful that I got some lovely help

Here's how it looked...
